About the Opportunity

The Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor is a key role within the Nova Scotia Health organization, responsible for the front-line supervision of employees, day-to-day operations, meal service and delivery, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas.

This supervisor acts as an ambassador and liaison within the integrated model of Nutrition and Food Services, serving as a resource and leader for employees in the area and remote sites.

As part of the management team, the supervisor assists in carrying out administrative and operational functions within designated area(s) and in accordance with NFS strategic plan.

The supervisor is committed to patient safety through continued quality assurance and improvements (food safety) and coordination of tasks.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill this role, with a strong background in nutrition and food service management.

The ideal candidate will possess a nutrition post-secondary degree (preferred) or completion of a recognized course in Food and Nutrition Management, as well as journeyman cook certification and advanced food safety certification.

Experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations is required, with a minimum of two (2) years' preferred (recent relevant experience within the last 5 years).

The successful candidate will also possess excellent leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching skills, as well as demonstrated judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills are also essential, as well as a commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice, and organizational health.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $29.90 - $37.38 and a comprehensive benefits package.
