We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for the front-line supervision of employees, day-to-day operations, meal service and delivery, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas.
The Supervisor will act as an ambassador and liaison within the integrated model of Nutrition and Food Services and will be a resource and leader for employees in the area and remote sites. As part of the management team, the Supervisor will assist in carrying out administrative and operational functions within designated area(s) and in accordance with NFS strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will have a nutrition post-secondary degree (preferred) or completion of a recognized course in Food and Nutrition Management, as well as experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations. The candidate should also have experience in a health care setting and unionized environment, as well as knowledge of and experience in customer-focused food service operations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching in a unionized environment, as well as judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. They will also have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and be able to prioritize, organize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
