Assistant Store Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Moores. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in leading the store team to achieve sales performance expectations, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Store Manager to lead the store team to achieve sales, service, and operational expectations.
- Support the Store Manager in setting clear performance expectations and training the store team in sales, customer service, and operations.
- Model company values and lead by example as an active coach.
- Communicate priorities and sales-driving information effectively to ensure the store team is equipped to maximize business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to recruit store staff and contribute to an inclusive store environment.
- Support the Store Manager in achieving store business plans, including sales, customer service, and operational goals.
- Assist the Store Manager in developing game plans and following up on execution to maximize sales and drive consistent performance results.
- Partner with the Store Manager to present opportunities with fact-based information and recommendations, leveraging data to make informed decisions.
- Participate in driving business outreach opportunities and communicate leads to the Store Manager, Multi-Unit Manager, and Business Outreach team.
- Identify performance opportunities and partner with the Store Manager to develop a plan to address and manage issues effectively.
- Partner with the Store Manager to ensure store schedule accuracy and proper staffing to effectively execute initiatives and operational tasks.
- Assist the Store Manager with training store staff on all internal operational functions.
- Stay informed on corporate communication, directives, initiatives, and policies and procedures.
- Support the Store Manager with the implementation of store programs to increase efficiencies in sales, service, operations, and branding.
- Contribute to an engaged and inclusive store environment where opinions and contributions are recognized and valued.
- Support a culture of learning and development, ensuring training tools are leveraged.
- Serve as a role model to all store team members and provide enthusiastic motivational leadership.
- Assist the Store Manager to create a steady pipeline of external talent through recruitment.
- Partner with the Store Manager to conduct regular store meetings ensuring all store team members are up to date with all company directives.
- Assist the Store Manager to train the store team on customer service expectations and create an exceptional customer experience.
- Support the Store Manager to lead the store team to exceed customer expectations and achieve a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Partner with the Store Manager to leverage all customer feedback to take appropriate actions and prevent or resolve customer concerns.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure the store is visually set to brand standards and marketing initiatives are executed per company direction.
- Minimum of 2 years of Retail or Sales experience.
- Creative individual who demonstrates good judgement and is tuned-into the pulse of the business.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic thinker.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates active listening and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to train and develop high-performing store teams.
- Proficient in technology systems, applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing.
- Ability to operate a computer and POS System.
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of work shift, frequently bend, squat, and twist, lift up to 50 lbs., climb a ladder to reach merchandise and or supplies, and see and distinguish between fabric patterns and colors.
We offer a competitive salary range of $52,000 - $56,000 per year, based on market location and experience.
