We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Business Development Executive to join our team at Scotiabank.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position responsible for generating sales and developing new business within assigned territories. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales and leadership, with a strong ability to establish long-lasting relationships and prospect for new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a defined territory to generate sales and develop new business
  • Lead by establishing long-lasting relationships, servicing existing clients, and prospecting for new ones
  • Use their in-depth knowledge of our products, practice management skills, and interpersonal skills to increase sales and retain assets
  • Arrange one-on-one, group, and/or branch meetings with financial advisors to promote company products and services (20 meetings a week)
  • Assign daily tasks to the Inside Sales Representative and Sales Associate for follow-up
  • Schedule and host events, roadshows, and manager meetings
  • Develop a strategic business plan for the year and review it quarterly with the team to increase sales from advisors within the territory
  • Segment the client base to define service levels and ensure sales from various distribution channels and firms (1-250)
  • Maintain and service client relationships using territory rotations to increase sales and diversify product usage
  • Make daily calls to clients who purchase or redeem above set targets
  • Submit expenses and maintain the overall budget for the region, including approving co-op requests, charitable donations, promotional items, and quarterly ticket/meal allocations
  • Data mine using the Diagnostic Selling Process and populate the CRM system with all information retrieved during meetings
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on leads from the Inside Sales Representative
  • Generate and develop new business relationships
  • Mentor the Inside Sales Representative through continuous coaching and feedback
  • Present to advisors on new products, business-building ideas, and tax-planning strategies
  • Work extensively and within a supportive team environment to meet and/or exceed company sales objectives (sales rep and sales associate)
  • Involved in special projects as required
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a minimum of 5+ years of sales experience and 5+ years of territory management experience. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a field such as commerce, finance, or business administration, and be bilingual (French/English). They must also have completion of CSC and/or IFIC certification, excellent public speaking and presentation skills, and the ability to keep up-to-date on past, current, and future trends in the financial services industry.

What We Offer
