About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist 1-2 to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Geological Survey Division, you will provide support for senior staff geoscientists to develop and advance a broad range of provincial geoscience projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze geoscience data using various methods, including field mapping and sampling, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and drone-mounted LIDAR.
  • Design and build geochemical databases, compile datasets, and analyze geoscientific data to support geoscientific programs.
  • Provide QA/QC and build GIS products to support a wide range of geoscientific programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of a B.Sc. in geology, earth sciences, or environmental geosciences, plus a minimum of 3 summer terms experience in a geoscience-related field. Experience working with geoscientific data is required, and the ideal candidate will have experience working with databases, analyzing data, and drawing preliminary conclusions.
