Job Overview

Aramark Canada is seeking a skilled Baker 1 to join the Dalhousie Food Services team. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the preparation, execution, and presentation of all items in the Dal Food Services Baker Shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands
  • Receive and store ingredients and supplies
  • Mentor and train junior staff members
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts
  • Ensure high-quality products and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
  • Utilize manual and power kitchen tools to prepare and present products
  • Adhere to Aramark policies and procedures
  • Assist other front-of-house stations as needed
Requirements
  • 2+ years of baking or culinary experience
  • Leadership experience considered an asset
  • Journeyman or Red Seal Certification in the Baking trade or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe Advanced Certifications are mandatory
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised
  • Physical demands include frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
