Job Title: PlayON Team Leader

At the YMCA of Greater Toronto, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PlayON Team Leader to join our team. As a PlayON Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of PlayON Instructors in planning and implementing high-quality recreation-based programs for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of PlayON Instructors in planning and implementing recreation-based programs
  • Act as a role model for staff, provide coaching and mentoring to the team
  • Develop and demonstrate awareness and understanding of community needs
  • Ensure fun, safe, and healthy experiences for all participants
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, volunteers, and school personnel
  • Organize and complete monthly wrap-up and other documentation punctually
  • Support families in registering for the program

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in or completed post-secondary education in related fields such as Early Childhood Educator, Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth, Social Worker, Psychology, Sociology, Kinesiology, etc.
  • Previous experience supervising staff is preferred
  • Previous experience working with children and youth in a group setting
  • Holds Current Standard First Aid/CPR C certification
  • Possess self-motivation and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills
