Assistant or Associate Professor, Sustainable Animal Production Systems
Job Summary:We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Sustainable Animal Production Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and engage in outreach activities to promote sustainable animal production systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and lead an independent research program in sustainable animal production systems, focusing on aspects such as feeding and resource management, nutrient cycling, and mitigation strategies.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in animal production systems, including ruminant and nonruminant species.
- Contribute to the development of new interdisciplinary courses in sustainability of animal production systems.
- Engage in outreach activities to promote sustainable animal production systems and collaborate with industry stakeholders.
- Participate in departmental and college service activities, including committee work and administrative roles.
- Ph.D. in Animal Science or a closely related field.
- Experience in research and teaching in animal production systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Eligibility for membership in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.
The University of Saskatchewan offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension plan, life insurance coverage, and flexible health and wellness spending program. The salary bands for this position are $99,945 to $120,099 for Assistant Professor and $120,099 to $140,253 for Associate Professor.
