Assistant Professor, Precision Agronomy

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in Precision Agronomy. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program in precision and digital agriculture to increase the productivity, sustainability, and profitability of dryland cropping systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop a research program in precision and digital agriculture to improve crop management decisions and optimize crop yields.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Plant Sciences and supervise graduate students.
- Establish a rigorous, competitive, and extramurally funded research program.
- Collaborate with local producer groups, national and international programs, and colleagues.
- Ph.D. in agronomy, crop science, soils science, remote sensing, environmental science, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in precision and digital technologies such as remote sensing, yield mapping, proximally sensed crop and soil data, simulation models, and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and potential to participate in outreach activities aimed at western Canadian producers.
