Assistant Professor in Sustainable Animal Production Systems

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Sustainable Animal Production Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative research programs, teaching, and service in the Department of Animal and Poultry Science.
Research Focus:The successful candidate will have an earned degree in animal science or a closely related field. They will develop an innovative, nationally- and internationally-recognized independent research program that contributes to the research strengths of the Department. The research focus will be on sustainable animal production systems, including aspects of feeding and resource management, nutrient cycling, impacts of animal production on air and water quality, and mitigation strategies such as precision management and use of digital agriculture for reducing the environmental impacts of animal production systems.
Teaching Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in animal production systems, including both ruminant and nonruminant species. They will also contribute to the development of new interdisciplinary and multi-species senior undergraduate and graduate courses in the sustainability of animal production systems.
Service and Outreach:The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to administrative roles within the Department, including serving on various important committees. They will also engage with various animal industry sectors through collaborative research and outreach activities that provide significant benefits to those sectors.
Qualifications:- Ph.D. in animal science or a closely related field
- Experience in teaching and research in animal production systems
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
