The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focusing on Quantum Information or Quantum Foundations. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, contributing to the broad spectrum of quantum science research activities coordinated by the Faculty of Science's Institute for Quantum Science and Technology.

Job Description
We seek a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Quantum Information Researcher. As a key member of our faculty, you will be expected to secure external research funding from various sources, disseminate research results through scholarly journals, regulatory documents, and public forums. You will also contribute to resource development, entrepreneurship, social action, and fostering relations with partners such as government agencies, indigenous groups, industry, academic institutions, and more.

You will play a crucial role in teaching and research supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, providing evidence of excellence and growth in these areas. Your expertise will enable you to teach courses in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and/or related programs, such as our professional master's program in quantum computing, commensurate with your current teaching needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
A PhD in mathematics, physics, or a related discipline is required, along with potential for leading a high-impact, transdisciplinary research program centered on quantum information or quantum foundations. A record of research excellence commensurate with your stage of career development and potential for attracting external funding are essential requirements.

You should have strong interests in supporting the Faculty of Science's Quantum Computing research initiatives and training programs. Your commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and collegiality within your organization is vital for success in this role.
