We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Care Counselling Instructor to join our team at Cyc Net. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge and expertise in teaching Child and Youth Care professional practice competencies, counselling, assessment and intervention skills, trauma-informed practice, human rights, policy, and research.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a proven commitment to decolonization and equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion practice. They will be prepared to teach one or more of the following areas:

  1. Child and youth care professional practice competencies
  2. Counselling, assessment, and intervention skills
  3. Trauma-informed practice knowledge
  4. Human rights, policy, and research
  5. Program design

Our team is committed to further diversifying our staff, faculty, and scholarship. An existing record of academic publications related to Child and Youth Care Counselling practice is an asset.

New instructors are hired into one of two work patterns: the teaching/scholarship/service pattern (TSS) focuses on teaching with involvement in a research or scholarship program, as well as service to the Mount Royal community; the teaching/service pattern (TS) focuses on teaching and service only.

Required Qualifications

A PhD in Child and Youth Care Counselling, or a related discipline is preferred; a Master's degree is required. The successful applicant must have previous post-secondary or related teaching experience. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience working in Child and Youth Care and be eligible for membership with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum. Benefits include comprehensive health and dental coverage, generous paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
