Fleet Coordinator Job Description

The Fleet Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal utilization of Brandt's fleet assets. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, procurement, and deployment of all fleet-related services and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure new fleet assets, including vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and mobile equipment, while ensuring the best possible price and meeting required specifications.
  • Collaborate with branches and manufacturing plants to maintain, authorize, and control all fleet assets, ensuring compliance with Brandt's policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective disposal strategies for fleet assets, adhering to Brandt's guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, dealerships, and other suppliers to secure the best prices and services for Brandt.
  • Monitor and manage insurance documents, including plates, permits, and renewals, to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Stay informed about fleet-related regulatory requirements and provide guidance to Operations and management on the implications of changes in the regulatory environment.
  • Administer accident and insurance claims for fleet assets, as well as traffic citations.
  • Manage fuel purchase cards, monitor fuel purchases, and identify opportunities for cost savings based on usage patterns.
  • Verify the accuracy of all fleet-related invoices and prepare purchase orders for management signatures as needed.

Requirements:

  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Some post-secondary education in business administration is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and select the best solution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and experience using an ERP package.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
