Fleet Coordinator Job Description

The Fleet Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal utilization of Brandt's fleet assets. This position is responsible for the strategic procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all fleet assets, including vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure new fleet assets for all Brandt entities, ensuring the best possible price while meeting required specifications.
  • Provide support to branches and manufacturing plants in the maintenance, authorization, and control of all fleet assets.
  • Develop and implement a disposal strategy for fleet assets in accordance with Brandt's policy.
  • Manage vendor relationships with dealerships and other suppliers to secure the best price and preferred service for Brandt.
  • Monitor insurance documents, including plates and permits, and manage renewals to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Stay informed about fleet-related regulatory requirements and advise Operations and management on the implications of changes in the regulatory environment.
  • Administer accident and insurance claims for fleet assets.
  • Manage traffic citations for fleet assets.
  • Oversee the distribution and control of all fuel purchase cards, monitoring fuel purchases and identifying opportunities for additional savings based on usage patterns.
  • Verify the accuracy of all fleet-related invoices.
  • Prepare purchase orders for management signatures, as needed, to support fleet operations.
Requirements:
  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Some post-secondary education in business administration is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and select and act upon the best solution.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using an ERP package.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
