Fleet Coordinator Job Description

The Fleet Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal utilization and management of Brandt's fleet assets. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to procure, deploy, and maintain the company's fleet, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maximizing value for Brandt.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement and Deployment: Source and acquire new fleet assets, trailers, forklifts, and mobile equipment, ensuring the best possible price while meeting Brandt's specifications.
  • Fleet Maintenance and Authorization: Assist branches and manufacturing plants in the maintenance, authorization, and control of all fleet assets, ensuring timely and cost-effective maintenance.
  • Asset Disposal: Dispose of fleet assets in accordance with Brandt's policy, ensuring responsible and environmentally friendly practices.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealerships and suppliers to secure the best prices and services for Brandt.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with fleet-related regulatory requirements and advise Operations and management on the implications of changes in the regulatory environment.
  • Insurance and Accident Administration: Manage insurance documents, monitor renewals, and administer accident and insurance claims for fleet assets.
  • Traffic Citation Administration: Handle traffic citations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Fuel Management: Distribute and control fuel purchase cards, monitor fuel purchases, and identify opportunities for cost savings based on usage patterns.
  • Invoice Verification: Verify the accuracy of all fleet-related invoices, ensuring timely and cost-effective payment.

Required Skills:

  • Self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and experience using an ERP package.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask, with excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
