Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Equipment Service Technician to join our team at ATS Life Sciences Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing automation equipment remotely and at customers' facilities, focusing on resolving customer issues to support increasing customer loyalty and revenue in alignment with customer needs.

This role involves preparing comprehensive service reports to support system improvements and generating additional opportunities. The Automation Equipment Service Technician will be rotated through periods of service work and periods of system build integration, where they will develop deeper knowledge of specific systems to become subject matter experts supporting customers throughout the system's life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  1. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment at customer facilities, making necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
  2. Report and correct abnormal equipment conditions and inaccurate actions by customer staff.
  3. Support developing operating and troubleshooting knowledge of the operations team.
  4. Review and suggest additional tools or equipment necessary to better operate or maintain customer equipment.
  5. Make recommendations for repair or replacement of only items requiring repair or replacement.
  6. Travel to domestic and international customer locations for long- and short-term support.
  7. Lead on-site teams and liaise with customer and ATS Project Managers.
  8. Coordinate 3rd-party vendors and assist in resolving technical issues as required.
  9. Follow ATS and customer plant and safety regulations while at their facility.
  10. Complete detailed Service Reports for services provided in a timely manner and submit to the appropriate parties.
  11. Ensure customer issues are resolved through follow-up communication and project/case closure if required.
  12. Be available for on-call rotations.
  13. Communicate through various mediums with internal and external customers to understand needs and provide resources and solutions accordingly.
  14. Collect and assemble necessary technical information and customer specifications to prepare for service scope.
  15. Facilitate warranty/non-warranty claims with customers.
  16. Coordinate service projects, including team meetings, schedules, and financials as required.
  17. Assist others and take on temporary or permanent assignments as requested by the Service Manager.
  18. Responsible for keeping up with current products and equipment used at ATS in Cambridge.
  19. Responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations in an efficient manner.
  20. Fill out daily site reports and safety checklists.
  21. During integration into System Build, perform all duties outlined in the Toolmaker Job Descriptions.
  22. Must be willing to travel to customer sites.
  23. Travel time will be up to 80% during service rotations per year.
  24. Set an example of company culture with integrity and professional competence, adhering to all established procedures defined by ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Policies, and Employee Expectations.
