About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Yolks Breakfast. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and effective service.
  • Estimate labour costs and manage kitchen inventory.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
  • Ensure high-quality food standards and presentation.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques.
  • Recruit and hire kitchen staff.
  • Participate in food safety and quality control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement kitchen policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
