Training Specialist – Bridge Research Consortium

KTECOP seeks a highly skilled Training Specialist to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training and pedagogical activities. This role will work under the direction of the KMb Lead.

Company Overview

The Bridge Research Consortium (BRC) is a collaborative project funded by the Government of Canada, aiming to build knowledge mobilization, science, communication, professional development, and equity capacity within KTECOP and other hubs.

This role will contribute to advancing public trust and equitable access to new vaccines and immune-based innovations that strengthen KTECOP's readiness for future health emergencies.

Job Description
  • Understand Training Needs
    • Assess training and education needs across BRC members and hub collaborators
    • Develop engaging content
    • Apply co-design principles
    • Synthesize existing training tools, modules, etc., to inform content and delivery
  • Coordinate Execution of Training Activities
    • Develop and maintain project timelines
    • Identify and invite relevant presenters
    • Create registration systems and communications with participants
    • Develop promotional materials
  • Evaluate and Adapt Training
    • Evaluate training
    • Collaborate with partners to adapt programming when needed
    • Work with the KMb Lead to review, refine, and develop training
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Life/Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field, along with two years of related experience in teaching, community engagement, science communication, and knowledge mobilization.

The candidate should have working knowledge of adult education strategies, knowledge mobilization practice, and science. Familiarity with co-design principles, theory and practice of training, mentorship, and tool design is also essential.

Able to use database, word processing, spreadsheet, graphic design, and web publishing applications, the candidate should be able to work independently, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and work on multiple initiatives concurrently.
