About the Opportunity

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological equipment with minimal supervision. You will perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, and remain responsive to each patient in your care.

Effective communication is key in a multidisciplinary environment, and you will foster a culture of safety in the workplace. Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications:

  • A graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
  • Previous experience is an asset, as is qualification to work in multiple Diagnostic Imaging modalities
  • Basic Life Support Certification and physical capabilities to perform duties independently under minimal supervision

You will possess excellent time management skills, prioritizing duties effectively and demonstrating initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills within inter-professional teams. Comprehension of technical language is essential for reviewing manuals and participating in relevant discussions.

Job Details

This is a long assignment full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly for approximately 18 months. Shift work, call requirements, evenings, nights, and weekends are expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $30.83 - $37.54. Successful candidates may be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
