Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled PC/Desktop Specialist to join our team at Communications & Power Industries. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for deploying, implementing, and supporting desktop and end-user environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer workstations to ensure systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support asset management activities for company-owned workstations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system problems, recommend solutions, and perform preventative maintenance functions as required.
  • Support workstation repair and hardware maintenance.
  • Participate in creating and implementing company IT standards and compliance metrics.
  • Help identify processes and procedures to empower the Service Desk to provide efficient and effective support.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including desktop procedures, end-user procedures, system diagrams, disaster recovery plans, user access audits, and test plans.
  • Accountable for the desktop experience and enterprise manageability of the desktop infrastructure.
  • Work with customers and the Cybersecurity team to design, develop, and implement modern security solutions using Windows Defender, Intune, Ivanti, and Carbon Black.
  • Define detailed steps for implementation work and adhere to defined change control processes.
  • Support the Cybersecurity, IT SOX, and ISO procedures.
  • Support multifactor authentication technologies, including RSA and MS Authenticator.
  • Provide exceptional support with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ensure desktop or end-user installed software is traceable and accounted for.
Requirements
  • Minimum years' experience troubleshooting hardware issues, including desktops and laptops.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, security patching, and troubleshooting of MS Windows OS.
  • Microsoft technologies, Intune, and MECM/SCCM.
  • Understanding of application packaging and delivery.
  • Understanding of Modern Desktop Administration (deploy, configure, secure, manage, and monitor devices and client applications in an enterprise environment).
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to create policies and standards used to maintain the technical and application infrastructure.
  • Ability to seek out opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Coordinate priorities between the IT department and user departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and fluently in English.
  • Ability to perform well in a team environment, with staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.
  • Familiar with basic network protocols and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills, as well as business acumen.
