Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Thrift Store Sales Associate to join our team. As a Thrift Store Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and contributing to the success of our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide a positive and welcoming experience for customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, and restocking shelves as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Process incoming donations, sort and price items, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, handle customer transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals, maintain a positive and respectful work environment, and support the overall success of the store.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of secondary school.
  • Experience: A minimum of three months of prior retail experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skills: Basic math skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekdays and Saturdays.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, and reaching, and lifting/moving up to 20-29 pounds.
