About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stakeholder Engagement and Public Consultation Specialist to join our team at Liberty. As a key member of our planning and permitting team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize stakeholder engagement needs and priorities.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans for origination and development projects, including research, interpretation, and understanding of approvals and associated public engagement requirements.
  • Identify and track engagement activities with various project stakeholders, including landowners, public agencies, and other interested parties.
  • Coordinate external project communication activities, such as mailouts, newsletters, websites, and social media.
  • Engage with a variety of project stakeholders, including farming, rural, Indigenous, regulatory, and elected officials.
  • Proactively identify and manage stakeholder engagement opportunities and risks, and communicate these items to the broader project team for action and mitigation.
  • Develop and coordinate 'hand over' plans to guide transition of project from origination to development, and development to construction, in regards to stakeholder engagement commitments and communications.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as communications, public relations, or environmental studies.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, event planning, graphic design/layout, and communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate complex subjects and information to a diverse audience.
  • Public speaking experience and ability to travel (approximately 30% of time) to meet with various landowners and project stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of the various stakeholder engagement initiatives and methodologies for communications and issues management.
  • Broad knowledge of the renewable energy industry and the various relevant stakeholder issues and challenges.
