Research Operations Coordinator Senior

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is a leading academic health sciences centre dedicated to mental health and addiction research.
This role is focused on supporting ongoing research activities for molecular and pre-clinical scientists, including:
- Oversight of day-to-day activities of lab managers, research managers and research staff.
- Providing overall support and coordination to scientists and physicians in executing and managing research studies in the centre.
- Ensuring compliance of research personnel with CAMH institutional and research policies, procedures and regulations.
- Overseeing all human resources inquiries, including recruitment, onboarding, staff training, daily supervision of all staff, and performance management; oversee staff and proactively identify staff training needs, professional development needs and performance management.
- Liaising with necessary internal and external stakeholders regarding project deliverables.
- Assisting scientists in securing funding through internal and external competitions.
- Monitoring key performance indicators, and supporting quality and safety initiatives.
- Creating budget forecasting, monitoring of budgets, preparing and submitting scientific and financial progress reports.
- Negotiating and establishing contractual agreements.
- Collaborating with study investigators and stakeholders.
- Coordinating and facilitating current and new research projects.
- Assisting in writing new grants and protocols.
- Adhering to and meeting REB, ACC, and regulatory requirements.
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of clinical trials including multi-site projects including, participant recruitment, enrollment, and study protocols.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Research Operations, Services, and Support Office, and will collaborate with other CAMH departments, to ensure alignment of research operations, meet and maintain institutional, regulatory standards, and department requirements including: Biosafety, Safety, Contract Development, Research Ethics Board, Animal Care Committee, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Support Services.
Required Skills and QualificationsYou will possess a Master's degree in a research related field in the mental health domain (e.g. psychology, neuroscience, etc.) and at least five years of relevant research operations experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
You will have a good understanding of the Canadian and U.S. grant funding landscape, experience managing staff, and management in a unionized environment is an asset.
The candidate will possess superior leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in software applications such as Access, Excel, RedCap, or other database software.
Salary Range$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
