Research Coordinator in Women's Health Operations Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our Driving Simulator Lab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating the lab's activities, ensuring smooth project management, and providing exceptional support to our researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the daily operations of the Driving Simulator Lab, including managing on-site needs and physical space safety requirements.
- Liaise with various departments, such as Finance, IT, Communications, Procurement, and Research Operations, to ensure seamless collaboration and resource allocation.
- Provide assistance to research operations and activities, including epidemiological and clinical research projects.
- Help facilitate knowledge translation initiatives and cross-collaboration efforts within the Driving Simulator research community.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of personnel and trainees as required.
- Train new team members on lab policies and procedures.
- Maintain the safety of the physical lab through regular fire safety and physical space inspections.
- Ccoordinate and facilitate the use and booking of shared project resources.
- Ensure the maintenance and facilitation of institutional equipment and assets.
- Work with the Driving Lab Research Method Specialist/ Simulator programmer, external vendors, and Project Investigators to ensure day-to-day needs are met and project deliverables are on target.
- Support budget planning and tracking for grant-funded accounts.
- Communicate effectively on behalf of the Driving Simulator Lab.
- Engage with inter-organizational managers and external suppliers regarding project activities, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications.
- Ensure ethical and regulatory compliance of CAMH and Research policies.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in business or research-related discipline from a recognized institution.
- 3 years' relevant experience in a driving lab or similar Simulator research environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a grant-based research environment.
- Demonstrated experience using Smoking Lab study equipment and procedures.
- Business and/or financial experience, including reading financial reports and preparing budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, discretion, and genuine interest in supporting scientific research.
- Advanced-level knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other knowledge translation and project management software and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee complex projects.
- Valid driver's license with a very good driving record.
- Experience and knowledge regarding research approaches and protocols, including epidemiological and clinical trial research.
- Ability to handle a high volume of diverse projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of risk management practices and procedures in a lab environment.
- Capable of original thinking and initiating ideas to move projects forward.
- Excellent skills in database management, spreadsheets, word-processing, and other applications.
- Demonstrated experience with grants submissions, publication experience, and literature review experience is an asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
