PET Imaging Technologist, Molecular Imaging and Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PET Imaging Technologist to join our team at BC Cancer. As a PET Imaging Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients undergoing PET/CT scans.
Key Responsibilities- Imaging and Therapy Services: Perform PET/CT scans, including selecting the appropriate imaging protocol, positioning the patient, and presenting the final image data set to the PET physician for interpretation.
- Patient Preparation and Care: Prepare patients for scanning procedures, including explaining the procedure, answering questions, and obtaining informed consent.
- Technical Operations: Operate PET and associated CT computers and equipment, and perform routine equipment quality control procedures.
- Patient Safety and Monitoring: Monitor patient safety during procedures, including obtaining blood pressure readings and observing patients for signs of distress.
- Certification and Experience: Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in Nuclear Medicine, and three years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Education and Training: Completion of formal PET/CT education, such as the CAMRT PET/CT certificate program or equivalent training and experience.
- Skills and Knowledge: Nuclear Medicine procedures, radiopharmacy dispensing, and radiation safety; PET/CT cameras and related computer applications; research processes and methodology; high-level patient care skills for patients of all ages; effective communication skills.
