Job Overview


Masco Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled CNC Manufacturing Specialist to join our team in the MC Shop department. As a CNC Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring production requirements are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Setup, Operation, Programming, and Troubleshooting of CNC Machines: Ensure accurate setup, operation, programming, and troubleshooting of various CNC machines to meet production standards and quality requirements.
  • Lead and Train CNC Operators: Lead and train CNC operators in troubleshooting and correcting faults to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Read and Edit Programs on CNC Equipment: Read and edit programs on CNC equipment with various controllers to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot Tooling and Equipment Issues: Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Fulfill Production Requirements: Fill out production sheets, tags, and Shoplogix to accurately track production progress and meet deadlines.
  • Promote Quality and Efficiency: Produce products to the rates and standards as set out in the Work Order, ensuring high-quality products while maintaining efficient production processes.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Follow proper setup instructions and procedures (layouts) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret production blueprints to understand product specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Use appropriate gauges to produce products to quality standards, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Report Quality and/or Tooling Issues: Report quality and/or tooling issues promptly to address concerns and maintain high-quality products.
  • Perform Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs on equipment as required to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production processes.
  • Optimize Cycle Times: Ensure product is running at optimum cycle times according to standards to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Edit and Modify CNC Computer Programs: Edit and modify CNC computer programs as necessary to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with service technicians as required to resolve issues and maintain efficient production processes.
  • Rotation through Various Work Cells and Shifts: Rotate through various work cells and shifts as required to gain experience and develop skills.
  • Daily Management: Input WO and production information into the Shoplogix system, input scrap during shift on Shoplogix system, and participate in DM meetings and problem-solving.


Health and Safety

  • Maintain a Safe Workplace: Maintain a safe workplace by following company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act).
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment: Wear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Comply with Company Policies: Comply with the company's policies, procedures, and Occupational Health & Safety Act to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in Internal Responsibility System: Participate in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate) to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Follow Safe Work Procedures: Follow safe work and lockout/tagout procedures as required to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report Unsafe Conditions: Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a Clean Working Environment: Maintain a clean working environment by adhering to WHMIS 2015 requirements and company policies.
  • Annual Medical Surveillance: Annual medical surveillance may be required to ensure employee health and safety.


Quality

  • Follow Area Work Instructions: Follow all area work instructions and procedures to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
  • Measure Product with Gauging: Measure product with supplied gauging as outlined in the quality standards to ensure quality products are being made.
  • Report Potentially Defective Products: Report any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept and your supervisor to maintain high-quality products.
  • Control Non-Conforming Product: Follow the control of non-conforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area to maintain quality standards.
  • First Off Inspection: Use the vision system to complete first off inspection per run to ensure quality products are being made.


Autonomous Maintenance

  • Inspect Work Cell: Prior to start of shift, take 10 min to inspect your work cell to the cell specific AM requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Sign Off on AM Checklist: Sign off on the AM checklist daily (initial and date) to ensure maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Process Problem Solving: Follow the Process Problem Solving and Escalation system as required for any issues found to maintain efficient production processes.


5S

  • Maintain Daily 5S Standards: Ensure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standards to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Take 5 Minutes at End of Shift: Take 5 minutes at the end of your shift to follow the daily 5S standards as posted in your work cell to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Sign Off on 5S Checklist: Sign off on the 5S checklist daily (initial and date) to ensure 5S standards are maintained.
  • Correct Deviations: Correct any deviations from 5S standards immediately or write it down on the cell board for follow-up to maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Support Monthly 5S Cleanup: Support the monthly 5S cleanup as required to maintain a clean and organized working environment.


Education Requirements

  • O.S.S.D or Equivalent: O.S.S.D or equivalent is required to demonstrate academic qualifications.
  • Passing Grade of 90% or Better: Having a passing grade of 90% or better on all testing requirements is essential to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.


Salary

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $29.71 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
