Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director, Governance and Compliance Strategist to join our Technology and Operations team. This is a full-time salaried position with an estimated salary of $160,000 - $220,000 per year based on location and experience.

Job Description

This role will provide specialized expertise in governance and compliance operations, supporting the identification and mitigation of regulatory issues and ensuring adherence to RBC's Enterprise compliance program. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent time management, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of RBC's Enterprise compliance standards and operations.
  • Oversee or monitor the satisfactory resolution of complex regulatory compliance issues and ensure that all significant compliance issues are reported to senior management as appropriate.
  • Routinely author detailed reports and gather metrics to ensure stakeholders receive accurate and complete information.
  • Perform complex internal control monitoring and testing for Applications, Infrastructure & IT Operations (AI&O) department across service domains.
  • Participate in all phases of the internal control monitoring process, including planning, testing, evaluating risk, identifying mitigating controls, developing conclusions, writing reports, and maintaining work papers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree or 7+ years equivalent work experience coupled with compliance and governance practice in complex programs.
  • A strong understanding of technology, compliance governance, and remediation procedures in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent time management, advisory services, process improvements, and regulatory compliance.
