Job Title: Compliance Director

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for managing compliance operations and providing specialized expertise, advice, and oversight regarding the bank's compliance program. The Director of Compliance will oversee the identification and mitigation of compliance operational issues and assist in the maintenance of operational and key control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of RBC's Enterprise compliance and standards and operations.
  • Issues Resolution Management – Oversee or monitor the satisfactory resolution of complex, contentious or sensitive regulatory compliance issues.
  • Perform complex internal control monitoring and testing for Applications, Infrastructure & IT Operations (AI&O) department across service domains.
  • Participate in all phases of the internal control monitoring process including planning, testing, evaluating risk, identifying mitigating controls, developing conclusions, writing reports, and maintaining work papers.
  • Overarching Management of compliance of Technology and Operations: Applications and Infrastructure assets (Hardware & Software) from Governance framework, documentation, planning, deployment, and implementation at the Enterprise level.
  • Operationalize, capacity and lifecycle management of all hardware and software supporting for all T&O assets across the enterprise for all lines of business.
  • Champion strong governance in the Compliance and Integration program decision framework/methodologies with T&O partners (Applications and Infrastructure).
  • Provide senior management and executives with reporting and timely updates on Enterprise strategic updates.
  • Lead transformational regulatory program to provide oversight and closure of gaps in processes/practices spanning multiple lines of business and functional areas within Technology & Operations.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or 7+ years equivalent work experience coupled with compliance and governance practice in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • A strong understanding of technology, compliance governance and remediation procedures in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent time management, Advisory services, process improvements, regulatory compliance.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and initiatives achieving planned results in compliance operations.
