Overview

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our Finance team. As a Senior Data Lead, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing the strategy for all data management activities across finance, procurement, and other cross-functional areas.

About the Role

This hybrid work arrangement offers a unique opportunity to balance remote work with in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of finance and procurement functions, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine data governance frameworks and policies tailored to finance and procurement functions
  • Lead the data governance team, providing strategic guidance and expertise
  • Mentor team members to enhance their understanding of data governance practices and tools
  • Oversee the profiling and analysis of data quality issues within specified data domains and business functions
  • Prioritize and assign remediation tasks based on business impact and data quality assessments
  • Present data quality findings and progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong background in the finance and procurement functions
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in data governance or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of data quality tools, data management processes, and best practices
  • Proven experience in leading data governance initiatives and mentoring teams in complex organizational settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Estimated Salary

$115,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule

Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Location

Broadcast Centre, Toronto, Ontario.
