Job Title: Executive Culinary Director

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Culinary Director to lead our culinary team at the Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel by APA. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Job Summary:
  • Lead and manage the culinary team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and high-quality food preparation.
  • Develop and implement new menu concepts, working closely with the chef de cuisine and other department heads.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and excellent customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff members to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of local, national, and international culinary trends and techniques.
  • Collaborating with the executive sous chef to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring all staff members adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior culinary position, preferably in a similar hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, developing menus, and maintaining high-quality food preparation standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A valid Red Seal or equivalent certification, as well as any additional certifications relevant to your background.
