About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a corporate or consulting environment. As a Senior Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and processing monthly payroll for thousands of domestic and international payees, preparing and filing tax documents and reports, and administering payroll garnishments and benefit deductions accurately.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently manage and process monthly payroll for thousands of domestic and international payees
  • Prepare and file tax documents and reports with the relevant authorities
  • Administer and process payroll garnishments and benefit deductions accurately
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including new payees
  • Process tax forms
  • Maintain compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations and internal policies
  • Reporting and reconciliation
  • Participate in annual tax slip preparation, year-end reporting and reconciliation
  • Serve as a key point of contact, providing expert advice on payroll and benefits matters
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies, and answer inquiries from payees
  • Assist with audits, system testing, process documentation, and continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes
  • Liaise with external vendors
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements
  • Train and mentor staff
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of Canadian payroll laws and tax regulations, as well as proficiency in payroll software, specifically Worklinks or Dayforce, and Microsoft Excel. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to explain complex payroll concepts clearly, while your fluency in English and French will be an asset.

A competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, plus additional benefits, will be offered to the successful candidate.
