Family Ties Association is a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting families who are accessing services through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) as well as Blood Tribe Social Development's Aiyiikakimaop for Children Program. As an Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to children in Lethbridge, the Kainai Nation, and surrounding communities.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $155,000, based on a 30-hour workweek at $75.00 per hour.

About the Role

This full-time position involves providing assessment, consultation, and collaborative strategies to families and support staff supporting a child living with a disability in language and speech goals. You will contribute to the development, implementation, and progress of a tailored service plan that meets the expectations of the funder, agency, and family.

  • You will provide support to families in their natural environment, such as home or community setting, through assessments and individualized therapy.
  • Recommend and coach families and support staff to implement and utilize adaptive equipment that will assist with daily living and facilitate independence.
  • Provide group coaching and information sessions to the community.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • An active registration and practice permit with the Canadian Association of Speech/Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • A valid driver's license, an insured/reliable vehicle, and comfort traveling in-town/out-of-town to schools, in-home, or community settings.
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of children and youth with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or other developmental disorders is considered an asset.
