Edenbridge Family Services is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a passion for supporting persons with developmental disabilities.

**Job Summary**:
**The position requires you to live in your home with the supported person**, who is a young male with developmental disabilities. The role involves assisting the individual in completing activities of daily living, promoting independence, and facilitating community engagement. Responsibilities include:
**Job Title**: Support Home (Roommate Companion)
- Supporting daily living activities
- Promoting independent community living
- Ensuring community access and participation
- Accessing recreational and leisure resources
- Facilitating relationship building

Note: The individual currently attends a day program. He likes smoke pot.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a spare room available
- Must meet specific program conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Insured reliable vehicle with a valid class 5 drivers’ license and 2 million insurance.
- Previous experience in Disability Services is an asset.
- Ability to teach and promote life skills.
- Willing to participate in activities with client on evenings and weekends - during the day a couple days

**Important**: Middle aged person or young couple (No Kids - Pets can be negotiable no more than 2).
- CPR/ First Aid
- Police Security Check
- CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- Positive Behavior Support

Participate in mandatory in-service training as indicated by the Executive Director

Edenbridge Family Services Inc. has been providing services to adults and children with special needs since 1990, as well as to individuals requiring personal care services. In addition, Edenbridge has also been a teaching facility, providing training and certification in a number of areas specific to direct client service. Edenbridge, as we presently exist, continues in the traditions, policies and excellence it has created to provide ongoing supports and services to children and adults with Developmental Disabilities, support for those who require assistance with their independence, and individuals with Mental Health challenges.
