As a Speech Language Pathologist with our team, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to address barriers to participation and learning. You will be responsible for delivering a continuum of support within our Response to Instruction and Intervention framework (RTI2), providing universal strategies to support all students in inclusive classrooms, and facilitating the development of age-appropriate skills through play.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our speech and language team, you will be responsible for assessing and developing individualized plans for students with communication disorders. Your expertise in facilitating professional learning opportunities for school teams will also be invaluable in promoting the success of all students.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a continuum of support within the RTI2 framework to promote student success
  • Provide universal strategies to support all students in inclusive classrooms
  • Facilitate the development of age-appropriate skills through play
  • Assess and develop individualized plans for students with communication disorders
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments to inform instruction
  • Complete assessment and treatment reports and year-end summaries
  • Provide recommendations for universal, targeted, and specialized services based on data gathered
  • Collaborate with other therapists/specialists to support student development
  • Participate as a member of the Learning Team to develop, facilitate, and monitor student program plans and successful transitions
Requirements
  • Degree in a recognized program in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration with Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
  • Eligibility for certification with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC)
  • Experience working in an educational setting is preferred
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle
