About the Role

As a Unit Aide in our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and clean environment for our patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, maintaining supplies and equipment, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms and common areas
  • Maintain supplies and equipment required for the unit
  • Assist with ordering supplies and equipment through SAP
  • Transport defective equipment to Biomedical Engineering
  • Assist with delivering requisitions, specimens, and x-rays
Requirements
  • Minimum High School or GED required
  • Previous Unit Aide experience preferred
  • Demonstrated communication skills and a strong sense of Family Centred Care required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
  • Knowledge of IWK Health fire response regulations required
  • Flexibility to change hours of work based on unit needs required
