We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Unit Aide to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for families being served.
About IWK HealthIWK Health is a respected academic health sciences centre located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We provide tertiary and primary care for two million children, youth, adults, and families each year across the Atlantic region.
Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect areas according to infection control guidelines
- Maintain unit and family rooms in a clean and tidy condition
- Ensure supplies and equipment are readily available
- Transport defective equipment to Biomedical Engineering
- Assist Ward Clerks with delivering requisitions, specimens, and other items
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a Unit Aide preferred
- Good communication skills essential
- Commitment to Family Centred Care necessary
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of Health Centre fire response regulations required
- Competency in other languages an asset (French preferred)
