Job Title: Specialist Internal Controls

At CP, we are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Internal Controls to join our team. As a key member of our internal audit and risk management function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of our SOX 404/302 program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business process owners to plan and perform internal controls testing, ensuring timely completion of the annual SOX program.
  • Work closely with external auditors, internal audit, and business process owners to coordinate testing plans and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to address control deficiencies, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on control deficiencies and remediation status.
  • Continuously improve our internal control framework, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
  • Assist in the maintenance of our risk and control library, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and updates, ensuring our internal control framework remains compliant and effective.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional Accounting Designation.
  • 3-6 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and/or controls design or assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of PCAOB requirements and COSO framework.
  • Effective relationship builder with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on detail and results-driven approach.
  • Experience in planning and project/task management.
  • Strong ability with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Visio.
