About the Opportunity

WSP Canada is seeking a highly skilled Site Inspector to join our Land Development and Municipal Engineering Team in Kingston. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance on municipal engineering and land development projects. Your expertise will be essential in reviewing construction projects, surveying, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contract drawings and specifications to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives
  • Inspect construction sites to verify adherence to contract requirements and quality standards
  • Prepare detailed progress reports, including written and photographic evidence, to document findings
  • Facilitate communication between contractors, internal staff, utility companies, and local municipalities to ensure a harmonious workflow
  • Administer construction contracts to uphold quality assurance standards
Requirements
  • Graduated from a three-year college program in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent program
  • Eligible to obtain Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation, or interested in obtaining C.E.T. designation
  • A minimum of five years of directly related experience in the inspection of large, multi-discipline and/or heavy construction capital projects, site developments, and subdivision projects
  • Knowledge of City of Kingston Design Standards and specifications
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset
