Site Inspector, Land Development and Municipal Engineering

WSP Canada is seeking a highly skilled Site Inspector to join our Land Development and Municipal Engineering Team in Kingston. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance on municipal engineering and land development projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating communication between contractors, internal staff, utility companies, and local municipalities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews of contract drawings and specifications to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives.
- Inspect construction sites to verify adherence to contract requirements, with a focus on quality assurance and safety.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, supported by written and photographic evidence, to document findings.
- Facilitate communication between contractors, internal staff, utility companies, and local municipalities to ensure a harmonious workflow.
- Assist with preparing and responding to change notices, change orders, site instructions, requests for information, and cost estimates.
- Graduated from a three-year college program in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent program.
- Eligible to obtain Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation or interested in obtaining C.E.T. designation.
- A minimum of five years of directly related experience in the inspection of large, multi-discipline, and/or heavy construction capital projects, site developments, and subdivision projects.
- Knowledge of City of Kingston Design Standards and specifications.
- Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset.
