Ontario Health is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Specialist in Organ and Tissue Donation to join our team. As a critical care professional, you will play a vital role in the donation process, working closely with healthcare providers to ensure the safe and effective procurement of organs and tissues for transplantation.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations to determine donor suitability
  • Establish collaborative approach plans with healthcare providers to facilitate organ donation
  • Facilitate communication with healthcare teams and provide updates on the donation process
  • Support the healthcare team by requesting resources for tests or procedures
  • Recover past medical history from multiple sources to determine medical suitability
  • Negotiate OR resources to support donor organ recovery surgery
  • Identify issues for follow-up and quality control to ensure the safety of the organ and tissue supply
  • Work a variety of shifts, including on-call shifts, with travel within Timmins and the surrounding area

Requirements:



  • Nursing Diploma and/or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum three years of critical care and/or relevant organ and tissue donation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
