Job Description

As a Senior Advisor, ESG Risk, you will play a key role in helping Desjardins implement industry best practices for oversight and disclosure of ESG risks. Your primary responsibility will be to recommend strategies and priorities to ensure the effective management of ESG risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initiatives related to the integration of ESG factors into risk management practices at Desjardins, ensuring quality assurance and timely delivery.
  • Develop and update policies, directives, methodologies, risk indicators, and training to support strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Advise, assist, and collaborate with partners from various Desjardins Group components to help them position, plan, develop, execute, and monitor strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor ESG-related risks, particularly as they relate to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, frameworks, and disclosure standards, and recommend responses.
  • Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert for Desjardins's ESG program.
  • Represent your department on relevant committees and decision-making bodies, preparing related materials.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in ESG risk management.
  • Experience working in Agile mode.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both oral and written, due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members, and/or clients.
  • Knowledge of the ESG risk management framework.
