Swim Instructor/Teacher

At Goldfish Swim School, we're passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. As a Swim Instructor/Teacher, you'll play a vital role in helping our swimmers gain confidence, self-esteem, and life-changing skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality swimming lessons based on our Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents, and make rescues and administer first aid when necessary.
  • Evaluate students' performance to ensure ongoing improvement.
  • Interact with parents/guardians on the development of students' swim skills, and act as an ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
  • Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
  • Inspect pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues, and report issues to management as appropriate.
  • Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment, and place and remove lane lines.
  • Report accidents and incidents to management, complete required documentation, and paperwork.
  • Occasionally perform light cleaning duties, such as tidying the pool area and trash removal.
  • Participate in training as required.
Requirements:
  • A commitment to work a minimum of two shifts per week.
  • Must be 16 years old on application.
  • Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross or NL certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED certification.
  • Previous experience delivering high-quality swimming lessons is preferred.
