Rutherford Contracting Ltd. is a leading construction company that specializes in delivering high-quality projects through the expertise of its construction management division.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong background in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully leading projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team, owners, and consultants to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate and award contracts with subcontractors and materials suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage the financial health and performance of each project.
  • Provide key insights to clients on cost and constructability.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure projects are progressing on schedule and meeting contract requirements.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for any unforeseen changes or issues that arise during construction.
  • Manage and resolve project issues, including health and safety challenges and conflict management.
  • Effectively communicate with all parties involved in the project, including owners, consultants, and sub-trades.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in ICI construction in a management or supervisory role.
  • A technical diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field, such as construction management or engineering.
  • Experience acting as a lead in construction management and/or design-build contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and management skills.
  • Proven time management, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications.
  • Knowledge of Maestro would be an asset.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • A proven track record of managing concurrent projects valued at over $10 million.
  • Additional health and safety training is desirable.
