We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator to join our team This role will be based in our Construction Management Division and will play a critical part in the successful execution of projects from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Participate in project start-up meetings with owners, consultants, and site superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare project budgets using the company's ESP-based costing system while adhering to budgeting policies and procedures.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Responsible for negotiating and awarding contracts with subcontractors and materials suppliers.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Continuously monitor and manage the financial health and performance of each project using the organization's ESP-based costing system.
- Client Value Creation: Provide expertise on cost and constructability to create value for clients.
- Site Monitoring and Contingency Planning: Regular site visits to ensure project progress on schedule and compliance with contract drawings and specifications. Develop contingency plans for unforeseen changes and problems that may arise during construction.
- Issue Management: Manage project issues, including health and safety challenges and conflict management between own forces, sub-trades, etc.
- Effective Communication: Effectively communicate with all parties involved in the project, including owners, consultants, landscape architects, and sub-trades.
- Business Relationship Development: Continue to strengthen existing business relationships with all parties involved in the construction process while establishing new ones.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 Years in ICI Construction in a Management or Supervisory Role: Minimum of 8 years of experience in ICI construction in a management or supervisory role.
- Technical Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in a Related Field: A technical diploma (i.e., C.E.T) or undergraduate degree (B. Eng, P. Eng, Architecture, etc.) in a related field.
- Experience in Construction Management and/or Design Build Contracts: Experience acting as a lead in Construction Management and/or Design Build contracts.
- Strong Negotiation, Communication, and Management Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and management skills.
- Proven Time Management, Organization, and Leadership Skills: Proven time management, organization, and leadership skills.
- Strong Technical Knowledge of Microsoft Office and its Applications: Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications.
- Knowledge of Maestro would be an Asset: Knowledge of Maestro would be an asset.
- Strong Ability to Read and Interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications: Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- A Proven Track Record of Managing Concurrent Projects in the Past Valued at Over $10 Million: A proven track record of managing concurrent projects in the past valued at over $10 million.
- Additional Health and Safety Training Desirable: Additional health and safety training desirable.
The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
