Gottardo Group of Companies is a leading real estate developer, design builder and general contractor. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for our new hotel project in Aurora, Ontario.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to lead our team on this exciting project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction management, including design, budget, and schedule coordination with the Project Manager, subcontractors, owner, engineers, and architects.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that construction work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations. You will also plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, and ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.

In addition, you will advise the Project Manager and senior management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and assist in resolving these issues. You will also manage the work activities of direct reports and administrative documentation as required in cooperation with appropriate departments.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to proactively identify technical challenges and solutions to the project structure and envelope working with the Construction Sciences department. You will also be responsible for setting up the site office, including temporary power, water, and heating.

To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in ICI construction, with advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings. You should also have strong scheduling experience, with a proven ability to develop, maintain, and execute both long-term and short-term schedules.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in ICI construction
  • Finishing experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of scheduling & project management
  • ICI construction experience
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions, and lead a large team to successful completion
  • Strong scheduling experience with a proven ability to develop, maintain, and execute both long-term and short-term schedules
  • Understanding of the Building Code and local by-laws
  • Understanding Prime Contract Requirements
  • Understanding types of subcontract agreements (design-build, design-assist, lump sum, contract management, and P3)
