We're seeking an experienced professional to join our Global Data Governance team and drive the adoption of our data governance and data quality framework across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the deployment of our data governance agenda globally to accelerate trust and utilization of data
  • Collaborate to refine our global data quality framework and develop playbooks, accelerators, and training programs to drive adoption
  • Work with leaders in data governance roles to improve data literacy and familiarity with data governance and data quality practices
  • Engage with partners to identify critical data elements and establish metrics linking data quality to business value
  • Conduct hands-on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification to resolution
  • Implement global data governance metrics and oversight mechanisms to ensure delivery of target outcomes through our Data Governance program
  • Partner with Technology teams to support adoption of data quality technology in the Azure Cloud environment and on-prem applications
  • Serve as a liaison between our Global Data Governance team and Segment Data offices, Data Owners, and Control Partners to ensure data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated
  • Apply creative thinking and contribute to innovation in data governance practices at Manulife, monitoring new and existing data governance technologies and bringing meaningful advancements to leaders' attention

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of data governance and data management experience in a large multinational organization
  • A college/university degree in computer science, engineering, or another technology or quantitative field
  • Experience with Purview, Collibra, or Informatica
  • Experience operating in a sophisticated, large-scale organization; financial and insurance industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively target communications to both technology and business audiences
  • Mastery of data governance concepts and technologies, with hands-on experience using one or more leading data quality software and data visualization products at scale
  • Familiarity with foundational data architecture concepts and Cloud technology is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to facilitate teams united by a common goal in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Practical experience with data wrangling, analytics, dashboard design
