Data Governance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Manager to join our team at Société Financière Manuvie. As a key member of our Global Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in shaping the growth and expansion of our data governance and data quality framework.
Key Responsibilities- Accelerate Data Trust and Utilization: Support the deployment of our data governance agenda globally to drive trust and utilization of data across the organization.
- Refine Global Data Quality Framework: Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously refine our global data quality framework, developing playbooks, accelerators, and training programs to drive adoption.
- Improve Data Literacy: Support leaders in data governance roles across the organization to improve their data literacy and familiarity with data governance and data quality practices.
- Engage with Partners: Engage with partners at various levels of the organization to guide them in identifying critical data elements and setting up metrics linking data quality to business value.
- Conduct Data Analysis: Conduct hands-on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification through root cause analysis to issue resolution.
- Implement Governance Metrics: Implement global data governance metrics and oversight mechanisms to ensure delivery of target outcomes through the Data Governance program.
- Support Technology Adoption: In partnership with Technology teams, support adoption of data quality technology in the Azure Cloud environment and for on-prem applications.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Serve as a liaison between the Global Data Governance team and our Segment Data offices, Data Owners, and Control Partners to ensure data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated.
- Drive Innovation: Apply creative thinking and contribute to innovation in data governance practices at Manulife, monitoring new and existing data governance technologies and bringing meaningful advancements to the leaders' attention.
You will work with our technology and business partners to unlock the value of data through improved accuracy and trust. This will help Manulife achieve its strategic ambition of becoming a digital customer leader, enabling efficiency and speed in generating insights with data.

- Experience: 5+ years of data governance and data management related experience in a large multinational organization.
- Education: A college/university degree in computer science, engineering, or another technology or quantitative field.
- Skills: Experience with Purview, Collibra, or Informatica, as well as mastery of data governance concepts and technologies.
- Industry Experience: Experience operating in a sophisticated, large-scale organization; financial and insurance industry experience preferred.
- Communication: Strong communicator, able to effectively target communications to both technology and business audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solver, able to facilitate teams united by a common goal in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Data Wrangling: Practical experience with data wrangling, analytics, dashboard design.
