About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at Tenaris in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical support to emergency crews and staff areas, ensuring prompt resolution of equipment issues.
  • Guarantee technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock of spare parts and materials.
  • Support the Engineering area in researching and assessing the best equipment available, and in the start-up of new equipment.
  • Draw up the maintenance cost budget and ensure costs are kept within agreed limits.
  • Ensure the application of health, safety, and environment standards and practices.
  • Comply with HSE procedures, report any incidents or observations, and participate in the investigation process.
  • Implement preventive and corrective actions, and keep updated the risk analysis and environmental aspect assessment.
  • Participate in the development of maintenance information systems and support actions as required.
  • Participate in maintenance programs to minimize/optimize the use of required energy.
  • Analyze, interpret, and recommend courses of action for more complex topics.
  • Interact with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.
  • Act as a shift leader, responsible for leading employees during their assigned time period/shift, coordinating schedules, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring work safety conditions.
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
  • Proactively motivate, coach, communicate with, and develop staff, and manage HR-related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures.
Requirements
  • Mechatronic or mechanical specialization/degree.
  • Previous supervisory experience would be considered a strong asset.
