Administrative Coordinator for Indigenous Education Initiatives

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Administrative Coordinator for Indigenous Education Initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to support the work of the Indigenous Education Network (IEN) and contribute to the development and sustainability of Indigenous education initiatives at the University of Toronto.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to Indigenous projects and initiatives at OISE, including coordinating schedules, activities, and materials.
- Draft agendas for and participate in IEN Leadership Team meetings, sharing updates on IEN activities and providing input on office needs and priorities.
- Attend meetings for the Dean's Advisory Council on Indigenous Education and provide administrative support to the Indigenous Education Liaison as needed.
- Determine logistical details and activities for IEN and related events, including producing and distributing invitations and promotional materials.
- Write and disseminate routine communication materials and correspondence to increase the profile of IEN and outreach to Indigenous communities and other stakeholders.
- Foster cooperative working relationships with internal and external contacts, including faculty, staff, students, community members, and organizations.
- Stay informed on current events and changes to policies and legislation affecting Indigenous people, briefing leadership as appropriate.
- College Diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years related experience, including experience in and with Indigenous communities.
- Strong knowledge of diverse Indigenous cultures in Canada and demonstrated experience in carrying out relational and trauma-informed approaches to working with Indigenous people and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion with sensitive issues and confidential materials.
