Clinical Diabetes Nutritionist Position in Kingston, Ontario

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Diabetes Nutritionist to join our team at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutritional care to adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with diabetes.
About the Role
- You will assess patients requiring nutritional intervention and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
- Using your expertise, you will provide education and counseling on self-blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and other aspects of diabetes management.
- You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to program development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that our services align with best practices and meet the evolving needs of our patients.
- Your strong communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with colleagues, families, and community partners to foster a culture of understanding and compassion in diabetes management.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent.
- Completion of a Dietitians of Canada-approved dietetic internship or equivalent.
- Eligibility for College of Dietitians of Ontario membership and practice within professional, legal, and ethical standards.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Two years recent experience as a Clinical Dietitian in an academic health sciences centre, preferably with experience in ambulatory care environments.
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator (or willingness to complete within two years of hire).
Benefits and Compensation
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings options.
